Ten Years An APEC Member: East Asia Steel Company
(VEN)- Established in late 1998 and officially starting operation in early 1999, the East Asia Steel Company Limited has formed a professional distribution network nationwide. With skilled workforce, advanced technology and good after-sale services, the company has become a leading steel manufacturer and a reliable address for both domestic and foreign customers.

The company owns a 30,000 square meter factory at the Song Than industrial zone in Binh Duong province. The factory has two galvanizing lines that have a combined capacity of 65,000 tonnes per year and one tinting line with a capacity of 35,000 tonnes per year. Company products satisfy Japan's standards JIS 3302 and JIS 3312 and are automatically operated with the CPC and PLC systems.
The company will put into operation one more tinting line, which has a capacity of 40,000 tonnes per year, in December this year. It will also develop a 100,000 tonnes per year zinc and aluminum coating project using the NOF technology - an environmentally friendly technology. This project is expected to be put into use in early 2010.

Apart from applying the ISO 9001-2000 quality management system, the company has professional, devoted and dynamic people including more than 40 engineers and technicians, who have university degree or a high degree, and more than 150 workers that passed related technical training.
The company's average production output increased 25-30 percent per year, while its market share increased 10-15 percent per year. This year the company expects to earn revenue of more than VND1 trillion including US$20 million earned from exporting products to Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
The company is working hard to penetrate into the EU and the US markets next year. Company general director Nguyen Thanh Trung said that East Asia Steel's top priorities are technology development and product range diversification to satisfy different customer demands. Annually, the company spent part of its budget on technology research and development and product range diversification to make its products competitive with products of the same kind from Thailand, the Republic of Korea and Chinese Taipei.
With its notable achievements, the company was presented many noble awards like the Vietnam Gold Star Award. Company general director Nguyen Thanh Trung was awarded the Excellent Manager Symbol and conferred on the title 'Saigon Notable Businessman'./.
